Illustration Friday - Phobia vers. 2

A friend of mine in college had a bird phobia, so I decided to do this one. I'm trying out different styles, so this looks different from the other one I submitted this week. I'd like to be more bold with the medium and less afraid to make mistakes. My artwork tends to look too careful. I struggle with the backgrounds. They're killing me!

Illustration Friday - Phobia

Arachniphobia! I can relate. At first I wanted to make the spider really cute, but then I decided to make the spider really small to emphasize the absurdity of it.

Obon Dancer

This is done in watercolor of a girl dancing at an obon festival. I don't know if young girls wear red kimonos, but I didn't think about it until after I already painted it red. I hope it is not inappropriate.

Illustration Friday - Change

So, this is my take on change. The metamorphosis of the butterfly and, well, pocket change. That's my 2 cents worth. ;o)

Illustration Friday - Farm

My husband had a couple of good ideas for this one and I had one, too, but they were too complicated to be done in time to be posted so I came up with this one. I didn't have much time this week to work on this and I think it is not quite finished, but the deadline is tomorrow and so here it is.

Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner is a pretty lady, but this is sometimes how I see her. I just had to draw those teeth and cheeks.

Jay Leno

I have been admiring caricature art for some time and decided to try it out. I don't know if there is much money in it, but it's fun.

Safe

This is my second Illustration Friday submission. The subject is Safe. My attempts to go bold and creative have not worked for me so I guess "Safe" is an appropriate subject for this piece.
