Girl With a Veil On Her Head

I think I'm spreading myself too thin. There doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to get everything I want done. I've been posting my fashion drawings on Instagram to drum up interest from fashion magazines. At the same time, I am writing a Sci-Fi YA novel and working on my children's picture book.

Some people think that you should focus on one thing or one style, but I wouldn't be satisfied with that. When I find an artist whose work I like, it's disappointing to see the same thing over and over again in their work. They master one thing like the profile or dots and that's all they do in the SAME EXACT way. In the same medium, too. And they get lots of jobs with that.

I tend to draw faces because that's what's easiest for me, but I try to vary the face, the medium, or draw other things. I could be guilty of the same thing and just don't know it.

Maybe my New Year's resolution (if I did resolutions) should be to NOT draw faces. That's a scary thought. I'm already out of my comfort zone.
